Using Techniques¶
Controls¶
Press G to open the technique menu, then click the button to navigate to the technique configuration screen where you can assign techniques to your 8 skill slots (keys 1 through 8). Toggle combat mode with Left Alt — techniques only work while combat mode is active.
To use a technique you need a Nichirin Sword in your main hand, an active breathing style, enough stamina, and the required player level.
From the Breath Overview, open the Technique Keymap to drag unlocked techniques onto your skill bar.
Technique Stats¶
Every technique card shows four key numbers:
- Stamina Cost — how much stamina it drains.
- Cooldown — recovery time before you can use it again.
- AP (Attack Priority) — determines who wins when two techniques clash. Higher AP wins.
- DP (Defense Priority) — how well the technique protects you during its animation.
Scaling¶
Damage scales with Dexterity (DEX) and Player Level, depending on the technique. Each technique lists its own scaling values. Scaling caps at level 72.
Dexterity directly multiplies your technique output. If you want your forms to hit harder, DEX is the stat to raise alongside your level.
